	on't despair if you were hoping to stay in the old Driftwood Cottage which is now closed, Linda and Paul have other cottage, Gumtree Cottage, just down the road from the old Driftwood Cottage which is also hugely popular and can accommodate more guests. Gumtree Cottage sits all alone on a large 2,200 sq m plot of land with absolutely stunning views both north over Napier towards the Sonderend Mountains and west into the Overberg sunsets. The cottage is quaint, cosy, quirky, very comfortable, and sleeps up to seven people. There's a lounge, dining area alongside the kitchen with a wood-burning "donkey" for chilly winter nights, a large kitchen, two double bedrooms, a walk-through kiddies' bedroom with two single beds, and an extra bed in the lounge. There's a full bathroom with old-fashioned bath, a second bathroom with shower and toilet; and three patios, all covered. The main patio looks north and west, there's a back porch, which is protected from the north-westerlies, and a small "Juliet" balcony facing north where two people can sit and soak up the winter sun. There's an entertainment area under the gum tree, and some surprises in the garden. There's also a portable braai for outside living, and seats and table under the gumtree. Gumtree Cottage is close enough to main street to just park your car and walk almost everywhere in the village. It all adds up to a perfect getaway to rest, relax, and take in the charm of Napier! 2018 RATES Minimum charge R600 per night (two people). R150 a night for every extra person (sleeps six in three bedrooms and there is another bed in the lounge for a 7th person. Toddlers with own cots free. We accept single guests (R400 a night) as late bookings. Pet surcharge: R100 per visit (1-2 pets); R200 per visit (3 or more pets). DEPOSIT A 50% deposit is required to secure the booking, the remainder on arrival. We regret we have no credit card facilities so if you would prefer not to carry cash please arrange to settle the account by EFT in advance with bank notification. PET FRIENDLY: Pets permitted by arrangement. We're fenced with a large garden. We ask pet owners to please clean up behind their pets. We do not encourage pets on beds, chairs or couches but if you permit it please bring your own covers. See Rates for pet surcharge. TV Please note there is no TV in Gumtree Cottage. If you wish to bring your own TV and decoder, there is a DSTV cable feed from the outside dish into the cottage. SMOKING No smoking in the cottage please.
