Don't forget to pop into Cape Agulhas Tourism's Napier's office which is now being hosted by Napier Properties on the Bredasdorp side of town. There you can have a chat to Derek or Linda about where to stay, where to eat, what to do, what to see, and, even better, which property to buy.

  • Want more info? Xplorio Napier offers a comprehensive online gateway to Napier. You'll find information, business, travel and a whole lot more at

  • Cape Agulhas Tourism's main office is in Bredasdorp, just 17km from Napier, and there's also an office at Cape Agulhas lighthouse, which you'll pass on your way to visit the southernmost point of Africa. You'll find all this and more about the Cape Agulhas region at

  • Here's a useful source of inspiration "born to celebrate this beautiful part of the world through photography and positive news/events/places to stay":
  • There were numerous galleries and arts and craft shops in Napier, but sadly two of them have closed.  Oh My, alongside the El Gallo tapas restaurant and just 200 metres or so from Driftwood and Gumtree Cottages, has a fascinating array of paintings by dozens of regional artists, including local artist Linda Reyburn, and sculptures, crafts and other items.

  • If you'd like to see more of Linda's work ( there are paintings in her High Street home/studio (viewing by appointment - call 028 423 3805 or 076 564 8235). You'll also find prints at the Cow 'n Bell next to Gunner's Mess 100m up the street (they have a wide selection of gifts too), and Vindigo (originals), on the edge of town, where you'll be able to stock up your cellar with a superb variety of local wines. Heading for Cape Agulhas? You'll find more of Linda's paintings at Southern Wright Gallery in L'Agulhas.

  • Back in Napier, interesting places with arts, crafts and antiques include:
The Cow 'n Bell, next to Gunner's Mess restaurant, for gifts and useful items.
My Skat for restored furniture and gifts.
Napier Antiques for well-priced gems of the past.
The Blue Door, for second hand items and furniture, in High Street no far from the church.
All Sorts for militaria, home-made chess sets and more.
    Hero Stained Glass, main road.
Nobuntu hand painted candles and ceramics.
Vindigo for wines, art and gifts (Bredasdorp side of the village).
Greta's Place for books, art, bric-a-brac and memorabilia (past Vindigo).

On the eating and drinking front, there is plenty to choose from.
